Crown prince honors BAE

Crown Prince Salman, deputy premier and minister of defense, has honored BAE Systems for its support of the ongoing Janadriyah festival.
Guy Griffiths, managing director of BAE Systems’ International Group, was quoted as saying: “I am happy to receive this honor on behalf of BAE Systems. We are very keen supporters of the festival, and as a company that is over 60 percent Saudi, we naturally want to be part of Saudi public activities.”
Prince Salman conferred the honor on the company during the opening ceremony of the Janadriyah festival on Feb. 17. Prince Salman met with Griffiths and Andy Carr, managing director of BAE Systems Saud Arabia.
Griffiths said activities such as the Janadriyah festival “offer us the opportunity to showcase our products and services, let the public know about our role in transferring technology into the Kingdom and our 50-year Saudi heritage.”
The company has developed a new stand in this year’s festival, said Monther Tayeb, public relations and communications director for the firm in Saudi Arabia.
“This includes exhibits from our Saudi economic offset companies. I hope that everyone who visits it will learn more about our global company and its partners in Saudi Arabia,” Tayeb said.
