Interior Minister Prince Muhammad bin Naif appointed a new deputy minister and several other officials to top positions in the ministry recently.
Gen. Abdul Rahman Al-Rubaian, who was appointed deputy interior minister, was the former supervisor in the office of the late Prince Naif.
The prince also appointed three assistant ministers in the Interior Ministry. Gen. Saeed Al-Qahtani was appointed assistant minister for operational affairs, Prince Bandar bin Abdullah Al-Mashari assistant minister for technology affairs and Abdullah Al-Hammad assistant minister for administrative affairs.
Al-Mashari was the director general of the ministry's national information center, while Al-Hammad was director of the ministry's financial affairs. Al-Qahtani was director general of Public Security since 2003.
The new appointments also included Maj. Gen. Othman Al-Mohrej as director of Public Security, Maj. Gen. Saad Al-Khelaiwi as president of the King Fahd Security College, Maj. Gen. Ahmed Al-Zahrani as director of the anti-narcotic department, and Maj. Gen. Tariq Al-Shaddi as the director of the national information center.
Al-Mohrej was the director general of the anti-narcotic directorate since 2004, Al-Khelaiwi was assistant director of public security for training, and Al-Zahrani was assistant director general of the anti-narcotic directorate.
