Abdul Salam, Nabeel Asghar, Sami Arshad shine in RCA SFM tourney

RIYADH: Fine performances by Abdul Salam, Nabeel Asghar and Sami Arshad were the highlights of the Sikander Farooqui Memorial Cricket Tournament, sponsored by Saudi Cricket Center and organized by Riyadh Cricket Association.
Salam took a record haul of 8 wickets, Nabeel Asghar took 5 wickets including a hat trick while Arshad scored a blistering knock off 138 runs.
All the 21 matches played in the sixth round of the tourney turned out to be one-sided affairs.
Al-Kharj Zone: Amer Holidays outclassed Lahore Lions by 144 runs. Amer Holidays posted 347 for 8 in their stipulated 40 overs. Sami Arshad played a blistering knock of 138 runs. Other notable contributions came from Irfan 49, Samiullah 43 and Nadeem 25.
In reply, Lahore Lions were restricted to 203 runs. Arsalan and Rasheed picked up 4 wickets each. Omar Zafar added 58 and Mansoor 43 runs.
Brilliant bowling by Nabeel Asghar helped CKK beat KFSH Blues by 5 wickets. KFSH Blues were all out for a meager 122, thanks to 5-wicket haul by Nabeel Asghar, which also included a hat trick. Khurram and Rustam added 47 and 22 respectively. Zahid also bowled well and picked 2 wickets.
Chasing a modest total, CKK lost some early wickets but Najeeb’s 38 helped them achieve the target. Nadeem Babar and Imtiaz Butt picked 2 wickets each.
In another low scoring match, Pak Shaheen trounced Shuraim by 7 wickets. Shuraim were all out for 131 runs. Abdulwahab and Abdulaziz picked 3 wickets each while Abuzar got 2.
Pak Shaheen achieved the target in 17.3 overs. Abdulwaheed and Abdulwahab remained unbeaten on 60 and 50 respectively.
Huraymala Zone: Stallions beat KFSH Knight Riders by 84 runs. Stallions put on board 210 runs. Notable contributions came from Yassir 61, Asif 53, Imran 26 and Junaid 25. Bilal took 2 wickets.
Knight Riders managed 126. Farooq hit 28, Faizan 24 and Fazal 21. Asif picked 3 wickets while Shahid and Sufiyan got 2 wickets each.
Star XI routed RAC by 9 wickets. RAC scored 116. Abbas picked 3 wickets while Waheed and Asif got 2 wickets each. Star XI achieved their target in 11.1 overs. Abbas 52 and Faisal 43 were the main scorers.
Riyadh Warriors got the better of Green Bangla by 5 wickets. Green Bangla totaled 178 runs. Kakon 56, Mithun 28 and Aminul 26 were the main contributors. Warriors achieved the target in 19.1 overs, thanks to a match winning unbeaten 100 by Asif. Abdulaziz propped up the innings with his 38. Mashuk picked 2 wickets.
Pakistan Falcons scored 209 runs against KFSH Green by 101 runs. Hamza Abbasi looked in great touch and scored 100 runs. He was ably supported by Tila and Matiullah who scored 44 and 24 respectively. Mansoor Ali picked 2 wickets. KFSH Green managed 108. Ubaid and Farooq scored 22 each. Matiullah picked 4 wickets while Mohammed got 2.
FUCHS beat Sulaiman XI by 21 runs. FUCHS scored 154. Aziz hit 81 and Shahbaz 27. Sulaiman XI scored 133 in reply. Aziz bowled well and took 3 wickets.
Riyadh Zone: Punjab Stars beat Kingdom Warriors by 43 runs. Punjab Stars put up 173 runs. Shakar was the highest scorer with 49 runs. Zeeshan and Irfan picked 2 wickets each. Warriors scored 130 in reply. Haris 23 and Adil 22 did their best. Noman picked 4 wickets.
Rawdah Heats beat Grundfos by 41 runs. Heats scored 146. Aslam 33, Abdulrahman 25 and Hadi 23 were the main scorers. Faisal and Alvi picked 3 wickets. Raheel and Yassir shared 4 wickets.
Grundfos managed only 105 runs. Raheel got 41. Shakeel took 3 wickets while Umar, Pervaiz and Saif picked 2 wickets each.
Lahore Badshah Green beat Friends XI by 77 runs. Lahore Badshah Green scored 214. Mirza Jahangir scored a fine 107. Friends XI managed 137. Shahid Ali picked 4 wickets.
AKCC batted first and scored 170 against TBCC. Aimal and Usman scored 65 and 46 runs respectively. Abdul Salam was in devastating form and picked 8 wickets off 3 overs.
TBCC in reply was bundled out for 110. Shameem was the highest scorer with 34 runs. Ashab picked 3 wickets while Sadiq and Aimal got 2 each. AKCC won by 60 runs
Imran XI beat Kashmir Gymkhana by 5 wickets. Gymkhana scored 143 runs. Imran XI achieved their target in 18.3 overs. Majid Khan top-scored scored with 93.
A fine all-round performance by captain Nasir Abbasi helped KCC beat Royal Strikers by 26 runs. Nasir scored 52 runs and later captured 3 wickets. Strikers in reply managed 119 runs.
Tigers got the better of Delhi Dare Devils by 6 wickets. The Devils batted first and put up 157 runs. Manik picked 3 wickets while Upol and Sharaf got 2 each. Tigers achieved their target in 18.2 overs. Thanks to scintillating knocks by Sailesh Kaw 61, Kamran 59 and Alal 32.
