What’s 73.5cm tall, weighs 8.5kg, and coming to a mall near you? The UEFA Champions League (UCL) trophy is on tour in the Middle East this month, brought to you by HTC, the official mobile phone and tablet computer partner of both the UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Europa League. The current UEFA Champions League trophy, known as the European Champion Clubs’ Cup, was introduced in 2006 and is the fifth version of its design. Its predecessors are held by those clubs who have won the UEFA Champions League either five times overall, or for three consecutive years. Currently held by Bayern Munich (who’ve won it twice before, in 1976 and 2001), the Cup is one of football’s most sought-after trophies.
