Pakistan's ambassador to the Kingdom has fired the principal of the Pakistan International School Jeddah-English Section (PISJ-ES) after a slew of allegations against her.

Ambassador Mohammad Naeem Khan sent the termination letter to Sehar Kamran on Monday night, according to Aftab Khokher, Pakistan's consul general in Jeddah, and Khayam Akbar, the embassy’s deputy head of mission.

The officials also confirmed that Imran Raza Khan, the school’s administration director, was appointed acting principal in Kamran's place with immediate effect.

Raza Khan said Tuesday that Kamran rejected the decision and called a staff meeting on Tuesday to denounce the decision.

Kamran was not available for comment.

“She refused to move from her post when the termination letter was sent to her on Monday night,” Raza khan said.

“She did not accept the order and came to school; and would not allow me to take charge as directed by the ambassador, which is an order from the government of Pakistan. What she’s doing at the moment is also against Saudi Arabia’s laws,” he said.
“She forcefully entered the school and called a meeting with teachers and created a scene. She did not allow me to attend the meeting, violating all rules and regulations,” Raza Khan added.

Consul General Akbar told Arab News that the letter of termination was issued with the understanding of the Saudi Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Education.

“We want to de-politicize the institution to create the best environment for students. The Ministry of Education knows about this and concurs with the decision. The ministry will also initiate action against her. Sehar Kamran’s termination will be implemented and parents need not worry over the issue,” he said.

The Education Ministry sent her a letter a few days ago to cooperate with the embassy, Akbar said.

Khaled Al-Ghamdi, the Saudi Education Ministry’s superviser of the school, could not be reached for comment.
