International conference aims to ensure universal respect for the Prophet

The Madinah Islamic University will organize an international conference on Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) under the aegis of Crown Prince Salman, deputy premier and minister of defense, on Nov. 23, Abdul Rahman Al-Sanad, the university’s president, said in a statement to the Saudi Press Agency on Sunday.
Al-Sanad thanked Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah and Prince Salman for the lavish support received by the university.
The conference aims to ensure universal respect for the Prophet by highlighting the humanitarian values promulgated by him, Al-Sanad said. The event will also focus on the efforts made by the Prophet to formulate a universal Islamic personality and identity. The conference will also discuss how to lay down an international charter to accord respect to the Prophet and all other prophets.
The first of the four topics to be discussed at the conference is the universality of Prophet Muhammad’s teachings.
Subtitles will be available for foreigners. In addition, a discussion on the books written about the Prophet by impartial non-Muslim writers will take place.
The second topic of the conference will be focused on Prophet Muhammad and humanitarian values. Principles of justice, equality, dialogue, mutual respect, peaceful coexistence and tolerance will be discussed.
Under the third topic, entitled “Prophet Muhammad and making of an Islamic personality and identity,” conference participants will discuss human dignity in the teachings of Muhammad, loyalty to religion and the nation and the development of Islamic personality and identity.
The fourth topic of discussion at the conference will be on mankind’s obligation to the Prophet’s legacy.
