Hyderabad Green, KAIA and Al Gudaid win openers in JCA League

JEDDAH: Hyderabad Green, KAIA and Al Gudaid won their opening matches of the Reel & Rom sponsored JCA League comfortably beating their rivals in Jeddah recently.
While Hyderabad Green narrowly defeated Al Khulais by one wicket, KAIA beat Saleheen by 8 wickets while Al Gudaid knocked out Pak Young by 4 wickets. In the other matches Natco beat ICC Irfan Basha by 6 wickets and Jawar Al Jazirah thrashed MHA by 54 runs.
Al Khulais started on a positive note but were eventually all out for 167. Hafiz Ismail top-scored with 52 runs. Adnan (35) and Irshad (22) gave good support. Babar bowled and claimed 4 for 35 while Javed had 2 for 20.
In reply Hyderabad Green just managed to scrape through in the last over reaching 168 for 9, thanks to an unbeaten 63 by Amer Maulvi, which included 5 fours and a six while Amer Wakla (37) gave him good support. Irshad bowled well to pick up 3 for 22 while Shahid, Shabbir Shah, Hasnain and Usman had a wicket each.
In another match, Saleheen opted to bat first but were bundled out for a paltry 95 with 5 overs still remaining. Noor Alam, Abdul Mannan and Arshad played havoc with the Saleheen batting. Noor Alam sent 3 batsmen back to pavilion conceding 26 runs while Abdul Mannan claimed 2 for 24 and Arshad 2 for 18. For Saleheen Faisal, Saber and Faisal Habib were the only batsmen to reach double figures.
KAIA rattled up the required runs scoring 96 for 2 wickets with 10 overs in hand. Usman made 29 with 6 fours while Majid and Sami remained unbeaten with 34 and 20 respectively.
Pak Young were shot out for 117 runs. Young Zafar contributed 40 runs while the others caved in to the bowling of Ameen and Zafar who took 2 wickets each for 27 runs each.
Al Gudaid scored the required runs reaching 118 for 6 wickets. Umar batted very well as he hammered 56 off 26 balls with 4 fours and 4 sixes while Majid scored 25 with 3 fours. Abdullah of Pak Young took 4 for 31 runs.
Elsewhere, ICC Irfan Basha scored 145 runs in its allotted overs. Sadiq 56 and Ashfaq with 40 were the only ones to shine. Hasnain had 4 for 30 while Majid Bhatti claimed 3 for 46.
Natco scored 146 for 4 with 6 overs in hand. Adnan Butt led the way with a stylish unbeaten 77 off only 24 balls which included 11 huge sixes as he launched a massive attack on the helpless ICC bowlers. Fahd (21) and Humayoon (24 not out) lent him solid support as Natco romped home with 6 wickets.
Jawar Al-Jazirah scored 193 for 9 with Asim (46), Sajid (41) and Tariq (27) were the leading scorers. Umar and Nasir had 3 wickets each for 19 and 27 runs respectively while Irshad claimed 2 for 24.
In reply MHA was shot out for 139 runs. Zakir (33) was the lone fighter as others had no clue to the penetrative bowling of Adnan who dealt early blows claiming 3 wickets for 25 runs, Shaan was very economical taking 3 for 9 while Adel and Zahid had 2 wickets each for 32 and 22 runs respectively.
