PlayStation PS4 slated for mid-December KSA launch

Sony’s new PlayStation PS4, described as a next generation computer entertainment system, will be launched in Saudi Arabia on Dec. 14, according to an announcement by Modern Electronics Company Ltd. (MECL), a subsidiary of the Al Faisaliah Group, and Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE).
The statement was made in the presence of Prince Mohammed Bin Khalid Al-Abdullah Al-Faisal, president of Al Faisaliah Group, and James Ryan, CEO of SCEE.
“PS4 redefines rich and immersive gameplay with powerful graphics and speed, deeply integrated social capabilities, and innovative second-screen features utilizing devices such as PlayStation Vita (PS Vita),” said Ryan.
“SCE will continue to offer breakthrough gaming and entertainment experiences to users by further enriching the services available on PS4 such as PSN and PlayStation Plus,” he said.
“The PS4 will support Twitch, a live Internet streaming service devoted to video gaming, concurrently with the release of the system,” Ryan added.
Prince Mohammed said: “In Saudi Arabia, there are more than 3.5 million users of PS2 and PS3, in addition to 780,000 users of mobile devices and more than one million registered users in the PSN market.”
Since its launch in 2011, Twitch has earned popularity worldwide as a live streaming video platform oriented toward video gaming.
PS4 users can easily broadcast their gameplay to their Twitch channel in real time to gaming fans across the world, by simply hitting dual shock 4 wireless controller’s share button.
Knack, Killzone, Driver Club, Watch Dogs, Assassins Creed, Call of Duty, FIFA 2014 and other games will be available on the launching day.
Earlier, Sony announced that the pre-orders for PS4 had crossed the 1.5 million mark ahead of the console’s release in the US and Europe.
