Philippine schoolchildren send greetings to Saudi counterparts

Students from Philippine international schools in Riyadh recently sent their greetings to Saudis for the country’s upcoming National Day celebrations.
Most of the schools will not be able to celebrate the national day since there are no classes on Sept. 23 but principals told Arab News they would observe the event.
Some Philippine schools, including the Future Generation Philippine International School (FGPIS), celebrated the event on Thursday.
“We celebrated early because we won’t be able to do so on the national day on Sept. 23 because it is a holiday,” FGPIS Principal Marie Con C. Caro told Arab News.
“Our school celebrated it to commemorate the unification of Saudi Arabia and to familiarize our students with the Kingdom’s culture,” Caro said.
FGPIS students wore green shirts, pins and other accessories, colored their own Saudi flag, and participated in various activities during their Arabic classes.
The school was decorated with numerous Saudi flags to show their appreciation and support for the upcoming event.
Philippine schools in Jeddah, Alkhobar and Dammam also conveyed their greetings through Arab News to all Saudis for their national day celebrations on Monday.
