Compensation for Haramain project to be reassessed

The Administrative Appeal Court has ordered the Ministry of Transport to reassess the prices of the land plots expropriated for the Haramain Railway Project, a local daily reported.
The new verdicts come in light of the lawsuits filed by citizens against the assessments issued by the ministerial committee regarding the expropriated properties.
Meanwhile, the concerned courts in Jeddah and Makkah are looking into the claims of land owners asking for issuance of temporary land ownership documents to present them to the concerned departments to get compensations for their expropriated lands for the Haramain Rail Project, the lands they earlier owned but without proper documents, the media said.
Measures are under way to furnish the Ministry of Transport with copies of the final verdicts issued by the Administrative Appeal Court. The ministry is set to reassess expropriated lands at the current market prices, judicial sources told a local newspaper.
