Labor Ministry employee caught red-handed in bribery case

An employee at the Ministry of Labor in Hafr Al-Batin was caught taking a bribe for the issuance of work visas for a citizen, the Saudi National Anti-Corruption Commission (Nazaha) announced.
The employee was caught red-handed when he was about to receive SR120,000 as part of a SR240,000 bribery package.
Earlier, a citizen had informed Nazaha that a staff member at the Ministry of Labor had asked for a financial bribe to facilitate visa services, Nazaha said.
Nahaza arrested the employee in coordination with security authorities and transferred him to authorities to take legal procedures against him, Nazaha said.
The commission has called upon citizens and residents to cooperate in wiping out such practices and implement a national strategy for the protection of integrity and the fight against corruption.
