The Indian Embassy in Riyadh has requested community members who are knowledgeable in Shariah and Saudi labor laws and fluent in the Arabic language to come forward and assist in helping fellow compatriots avail of the amnesty extension.
“As part of its efforts to fully utilize the extended grace period announced by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah for overstaying expatriates to correct their status or to leave the Kingdom without facing penal action, the embassy urges Indian nationals with knowledge in Shariah law, Saudi labor laws and Arabic language to register with the embassy and offer their services to assist those in tarheel, labor offices, jails and deportation centers,” said Surinder Bhagat, spokesperson of the embassy.
He added, “Indians with experience in dealing with Saudi offices handling jail cases, labor cases, legal cases and law offices in Saudi Arabia are also invited to join.”
Bhagat said that Indians with aforementioned expertise who register with the embassy would join more than 600 Indian volunteers currently working closely with the embassy in its efforts to utilize the concessions announced by the Saudi authorities during the grace period.
They would also help the embassy to reach out to Indians in small towns and far off places in Saudi Arabia to utilize the grace period.
He added that interested and eligible Indian nationals may contact Mohammad Aleem, third secretary at the Indian Embassy at [email protected] with a copy to [email protected].
