Intersport, one of the Gulf’s major multi-branded sporting goods retailer, launched the first of its exclusive brand outlets at the Red Sea Mall on June 26.
Intersport’s new shop is 11,000 sq ft in size and is considered the biggest in the Western Region.
It is in line with the international concept of the popular brand.
It offers its customers a wide range of sports apparel, footwear and equipment that is used internationally as the official sport gear for games and competitions, such as football, basketball, running, rackets, fitness, watersports, wheels and games.
Mohsen Saroufim, head of operations, Intersport Middle East, said: “We are excited about the store opening in this prestigious location. Not only does this expand our Middle East footprint but also reflects our philosophy of quality and we are confident this brand will change the outlook for sports goods retailing in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This market has immense potential for specialized markets we believe Intersport will bring ‘Sport to the People’ in the Kingdom.”
During the opening ceremony, Intersport offered 100 sport goodie bags to the first 100 customers who spent SR 150 or more.
Opening day customers were offered a special ‘Crazy Prices’ deal on selective sporting items. 20 lucky customers got to walk away with valuable prizes won while taking part in certain sporting activities within the mall.
Intersport works closely with brands such as Adidas, Asics, Nike, Puma and Reebok, in addition to an entire range of its own exclusive international brands — Energetics, Firefly, McKinley, ProTouch and TechnoPro.
The outlet is also providing counselling and advice for individual customers with the help of a team of qualified professionals in the field.
Saroufim said: “We are excited at the prospect of replicating our successful story in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.”
