Hewlett-Packard (HP) has launched Slate 7 Android consumer tablet in Saudi Arabia, according to Laszlo Czineger, HP’s general manager in the Kingdom.
“HP Slate 7 is an affordable Android Belly Bean consumer tablet that provides customers with easy access to Google Mobile services,” he told a press briefing recently.
He said HP Slate 7 delivers the Google experience with services like Google Now, Google Search, Gmail, YouTube, Google Drive and Google+ Hangouts for multiperson video chat as well as access to apps and digital content through Google Play.
“There’s a high demand in the consumer technology segment in Saudi Arabia. Consumers in the Kingdom have vast consumer tech knowledge and are always on the lookout for the newest and most outstanding products,” said Ammar Issa, category manager.
He said the HP Slate 7 on Android represents a compelling entry point for consumer tablets and delivers the service and support people expect from HP.
With a 17.78 cm (7-inch) diagonal screen and weighing 368 grams (13 ounces), the HP Slate 7 is an ideal trusted personal companion, featuring a stainless-steel frame and soft black paint in grey or red on the back.
The HP Slate 7 joins the recently introduced HP Chromebook as part of HP’s push to offer access to the Google experience. “HP’s tablet offerings reside in the company’s newly formed Mobility Global Business Unit established in 2012 ,” Issa added.
