NEW YORK: Artificial intelligence is both the problem and the solution for a new team of Avengers whose roster members are synthetic, android and robotic.
Such is the crux of “Avengers A.I.” which boasts the return of the Vision to prominence in the Marvel Entertainment universe after years secluded on the sidelines in a self-imposed exile that left readers wondering whether Hank Pym’s benevolent creation would ever return.
The book was released Wednesday. Writer Sam Humphries and editor Lauren Sankovitch say it’s a new chapter for the Avengers because it focuses on a specific threat that resulted from the just-concluded “Age of Ultron” story line that nearly saw the end of humanity at the hands of the evil robot. They say it’s a threat that looms but is hidden, too.
