PISJ-ES celebrates Y-13 success

Pakistan International School Jeddah (English Section) celebrated the achievements of graduates of Y-13 at a function on Sunday.
Mazen Batterjee, vice chairman, Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry; Tarek Mishkhas, editor in chief of Urdu News and Malayalam News; Pakistani TV star Shakeel Ahmed; and prominent Pakistanis attended the event.
The program commenced with the recitation of the verses of the Holy Qur’an followed by the national anthems of Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. The ceremony was compered by Sohaib Khalid, Shahzar Khan and Sadia Shafqat.
A digital presentation regarding memoirs of PISJ-ES graduates, administration and their teachers was also shown.
Sen. Sehar Kamran, principal of the school, addressed the students.
“Today, we are here to honor your contributions. In your own way, each and everyone of you has enriched this institution, your achievement is an important milestone, and you should celebrate your success,” she said. She urged them to set their goals high and work hard to achieve success.
Kamran said that the results of the students; their top rankings and achievements in the Cambridge University board exams have brought pride, not only to the school, students and their parents, but also to the country.
Children sang a song paying tribute to the graduating students.
PISJ-ES also celebrated the 19th anniversary of Urdu News by cutting a cake and congratulated Mishkhas and the Urdu News team.
The students read out their memoirs recounting how the school had helped them in carving a niche for themselves with the help of inspirational and motivating teachers who supported them and taught them to be good citizens.
Students were presented special awards in different categories such as, “student of the year,” “most dedicated student,” “most progressive student,” “most talented student,” “anchor of the year,” “most humble student,” “helping hand of the year,” “sportsman and sportswoman of the year,” and “outstanding attendance and punctuality.”
The members of the students’ council were also presented awards.
Students who received awards for excelling in CIE last year included Ibrahim Qureshi, Mohammad Irfan Hashmi, Syed Bilal Mustafa Asdaq, Zulekha Yousaf, Fahad Bin Tahir, Hassan Farooq, Qazi Hamid, Hamdan Altaf, Asim Aslam, Mohammed Awais Zaheer, Syed Osama Ahmed, Imran Sajid, Rabeeya Shabeeh and Hiba Shakil.
The student of the year Hafsa Khan (girls) and Ibrahim Qureshi (boys) shared their views with the fellow graduate students.
The Y9 and Y10 students acted out a scene from Shakespeare’s Macbeth.
Shakeel Ahmed lauded the school leadership and team for their commendable efforts in making the school a leading and well-respected educational institution. He congratulated the graduates.
Ghulam Akbar Niazi said that they would serve as role models for other youngsters. He prayed for their success, and wished the school would flourish further.
