15 women complete training program for employment

Graduates of the first Nestle training program received their certificates with the guarantee of excellent job opportunities with the Nestle group of companies.
The Nestle program has generated a number of training courses to bridge the gap between employees and companies.
“The first class of 15 young Saudi women completed their first female-only training program to provide skills for joining multinational companies. The Nestle Center of Excellence is part of Nestle’s “Creating Shared Value” initiatives that we established in Saudi Arabia last year.”
Its mission is to train Saudi graduates to multinational standards in different fields,” said Yves Manghardt, chairman & CEO of Nestle Middle East.
The first four-week program began in March and 15 university graduates took different training modules within the program, including project management, finance for those with no finance background, business etiquette and advanced Microsoft office.
In addition, trainees gained experience in a real working environment by joining business teams as part of their on-the-job training to put their skills into practice within different departments at Nestle Saudi Arabia.
Affaf Al-Othabi, one of the graduates, told Arab News that the Nestle Center of Excellence training program was a great experience.
“All the participants had a good educational background. They were open-minded, friendly and eager to learn. The learning environment was excellent, as experts came from different places to teach. They groomed our skills and personality, taught us how to communicate with others when working in multinational companies and taught us how to complete our tasks,” she said.
She added that at the end of the program, they were sent to different departments to see if they matched their interests and skills and if they found them suitable to work in.
“At the beginning, I thought it would be boring, but the trainers’ techniques made it very interesting. At the end, we were all offered jobs at Nestle. The main purpose of our training was to get a job with Nestle. We are confident that we will be able to get better jobs and work in any multinational company,” she said.
Nestlé Saudi Arabia Country Manager Roger Meguerdichian said, “This program is the forth pillar of the Nestlé Center of Excellence. We started with the Nutrition Development Program, Graduate Development Program and the Sales Training Academy. Today, with the Business Executive Program, we are teaching a new class of ladies capable of assuming different roles within the company. So far, a third of the trainees are being offered a position in various departments within Nestlé Saudi Arabia.”
