Al-Falih: Manifa will be the model oil and gas project

On the eve of Saudi Aramco’s 80th anniversary, president and CEO Khalid A. Al-Falih visited the Manifa field to meet and personally thank the team that made possible the recent first phase production start-up.
He was accompanied by Amin H. Nasser, senior vice president of Upstream; Nasir K. Al-Naimi, vice president of Northern Area Oil Operations; Fahad Al-Helal, executive director of Project Management; and other members of Manifa management, drilling, support organizations and project management.
Employees of Manifa Producing, Project Management and supporting organizations greeted the visitors at multiple locations in Manifa.
“Our pride in Manifa goes beyond the magnificent facilities that you have constructed and now operate. Our pride is in the team that made all this possible: all of you,” Al-Falih said.
Reflecting on the newest of Saudi Aramco’s oil and gas producing facilities to come on line, Al-Falih said: “This achievement will be remembered for decades to come and has already become a destination for visitors from around the globe. For many years to come, Manifa will be the model oil and gas project to follow and learn from because of success across the board in all areas such as safety, quality, delivering ahead of schedule and finishing well under budget.”
Achieving such success was no easy task, and the CEO acknowledged the important role adhering to the company’s values played in the achievement.
“You have clearly exemplified Excellence, Safety, Accountability, Integrity and Citizenship in all aspects of project execution. You have given so much and deserve to be proud of this amazing accomplishment. Celebrate it with your team, with your company and with your loving families,” he said.
Expanding on the role of values, Al-Falih noted: “In terms of Excellence, you have deployed cutting-edge technologies and new approaches in Manifa at a scale that has no equal in our industry. You delivered this with the highest attention to Safety and, thankfully, without a single serious injury. And you clearly exhibited your Accountability as a team. Any individual project task could have gone wrong and would have delayed start-up, but you were clearly accountable to each other as a team and delivered without fail. As for Citizenship, this project has supported the local market in its approach to procurement and will supply a number of advanced highly integrated refineries creating jobs and adding value to our economy.
Additionally, both in terms of citizenship and integrity, you delivered one of the largest oil increments in the industry‚ “history while preserving the fragile marine habitat in this area.”
In closing, Al-Falih shared that he was not only there to convey his own thanks but also the appreciation of Ali I. Al-Naimi, the minister of petroleum and mineral resources; the gratitude of the members of Saudi Aramco’s Board of Directors, and the entire Saudi Aramco family.
“You make us all proud, and for that, we are very thankful,” Al-Falih said.
