Global quality honor for Yusuf bin Ahmed Kanoo

Yusuf bin Ahmed Kanoo Company Limited, Saudi Arabia, has got all its business divisions viz. Kanoo Shipping, Kanoo Commercial Group (comprising of machinery, oil and gas, power and industrial projects), Kanoo Travel and Kanoo Freight re-certified sixth time to the prestigious ISO9001:2008 international standard by ABS Quality Evaluations Inc.
A certificate presentation ceremony was held at the company’s head office in Dammam.
Khalid Mohammed Kanoo, deputy chairman, received the certificates from R. S. Mani, regional general manager — Middle East of ABS Quality Evaluations Inc.
Ali Abdulla Kanoo, directors and senior management of the company, were also present.
Sarfraz Ahmad, country manager ABS Group Saudi Arabia and A. G. Kutty, lead auditor, ABS Quality Evaluation Inc. also attended.
Addressing the gathering, Khalid Kanoo reiterated Kanoo family’s strong commitment and dedication toward the implementation and continual improvement of the quality management system throughout the company in order to deliver highest level of customer service.
Customer focus and customer satisfaction are of paramount importance and on these basic goals the company has progressed over 122 years since its inception in 1890.
Ali Abdulla Kanoo, briefed on the history of ISO 9001 certification and said it commenced in the year 1994 and since then it is effectively implemented for 19 years and is going strength by strength.
He highlighted Kanoo Shipping and Kanoo Machinery were the first two divisions to get certified in 1995 followed by Kanoo Travel in 1997 and finally Kanoo Freight. He said Kanoo Travel was the first travel company in the Middle East to get certified under ISO9001 Standard.
Ali Abdulla Kanoo appreciated certifying body ABS QE for their thorough and stringent audits.
He thanked the Quality team members to retain its certification without any major non-compliance since its first certification over a period of 18 years.
He requested the senior management in the company to continue their leadership role for implementing and improving the system to achieve the desired goals and objectives for the company.
The overall function was onducted by Mohammed Nadeem-ul-haque, company’s quality manager for Saudi Arabia.
