This refers to the editorial "Saudi-Turkey Rapport Bodes Well for Global Influence" by Mohammed Al-Harthi (May 22). The editorial is very informative, especially with regard to Saudi-Turkey ties.
Indeed, Saudi Arabia and Turkey can have a positive impact economically in the Gulf region. It is also very heartening to read that the economies of the two countries stand at $ 5.1 trillion with high growth rates. This figure indicates that both Saudi Arabia and Turkey are serious about putting their economies on a progressive path, which will not only benefit the two countries but the Gulf as a whole.

There are sectarian clashes in both Iraq and Syria which are threatening peace and security in the region. — Anees Lokhande, Alkhobar
