Nasser Al Hajri strikes with a double in FTBJ-ICBL event

Nasser Al Hajri refused to be written off in the battle for No. 1 just yet when it clinched a Team of the Week and men’s Bowler of the Week double during the 16th session in the FTBJ-ICBL 31st Conference bowling tournament at Jeddah Lanes here.
Just as when Oryx Jets was threatening to lap the field Nasser, the previous leader, returned the top tally of 43 points to gain ground on Oryx which compiled 32.5 points in a tie for third place with Sky Freight-TFC on the day.
Oriana Akiera Sato was second to Nasser on 39.5 points, as the teams to occupy top four during the session all had been Team of the Week winners.

The last three teams to check in were Taurus RDLR 18, D’ Barkads 14 and Avengers 4.5.
Alma Baylon brought some positive into an otherwise woeful display by Avengers when she claimed the ladies Bowler of the Week plum on 602.
Nasser bowled pretty steady, effectively winning team honors by taking Game 3 and overall output.
The Nasser double was courtesy of Randy Mata, who nabbed the men’s indiviual award after shooting the high series of 707 on lines of 246, 226 and 235.
Victor Pagayon rolled 615 to support Mata whose wife Gail contributed 537 from the distaff side with Len-len Berina who made 538. Zaldy Bacero added 214-204 and Cesar Monares 223.

Despite a tempered team display Majid Aslani fired the second-best score of 673 at Oryx which drew 590 from Edu Toledo, 527 from Marie Gumpal and 474 from Jeanette Cerbito. Nick Gozun tossed in 212-191 and Igna Salgado 202.
