I congratulate the National Guard for organizing the 28th Janadriyah heritage and culture festival in a magnificent manner. For a visitor from outside the Kingdom, it was like a fresh breeze and I enjoyed it thoroughly.
However, there are few observations/suggestions, which could be considered for the next year’s festival.
1. Since the festival is spread over a very large area, there should be places for visitors to sit and rest. Although there are many benches but they are not comfortable especially during the daytime. It is also suggested that restaurants like fast-food joints should have bigger lounges where visitors can relax and enjoy food as well.
2. Toilets both for men and women should be more in numbers and clearly marked, giving directions.
3. At the end of the show there should be a mega firework everyday so that people should have the interest till the very end.
4. There should also be laser shows during the festival.
5. For children and the family, there should be a fun land where there are games, circus, swings etc.
6. In addition to one country pavilion, there should be pavilions from other countries whose expats are here in large numbers, as it would add more diversity and color to the event.
7. Lost and found arrangement was not visible. In such a large congregation of people, one is likely to be lost especially children.
A very elaborate arrangement system must be in place during the festival.
Once again I wish the National Guard all the best for next year’s festival. — Khalid Rashid, Riyadh
