Fahd bin Abdullah new deputy defense minister

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah appointed yesterday Prince Fahd bin Abdullah bin Muhammad the new deputy defense minister.
“We order the following: Firstly, Deputy Defense Minister Prince Khaled bin Sultan is relieved from his office. Secondly, Prince Fahd bin Abdullah bin Muhammad is appointed deputy to the Defense Minister with a minister’s rank,” the king said in the decree quoted by the SPA.
Prince Fahd is a former commander of the Royal Saudi Naval Forces. The prince also held positions such as the chief of the Operations Authority of the Naval Forces, director at the office of the minister of Defense, Aviation and Inspector General and then deputy commander of the naval forces.
The prince, who has a master’s degree in military sciences, attended advanced programs in naval matters in the US, the UK and Pakistan and also attended programs on command and staff at the Military College in the US. The prince also won a number of national and international medals. They include the King Abdulaziz Medal, King Faisal Medal and the Naval Medal and the Administration Medal of the First Order and the Medal for Command, the Medal of the Peninsular Shield, the Kuwait Liberation Medal and the Military Medal of Appreciation.
