Family saved from burning building

A Civil Defense team saved a family of six from their burning building in Khamis Mushait.
They were treated at the city's public hospital for smoke inhalation.
The family and other residents of the building were moved to the roof and then evacuated with an escape ladder. Teams of firefighters were sent to the location to control the fire before it spread to other apartments. The fire engines took a long time to reach the scene because of the crowd of curious onlookers.
Col. Mohammad Al-Asmi, Civil Defense spokesman, said investigations showed the fire was caused by an electrical short circuit.
