The official launch of Air Asia’s direct flights from Jeddah to Kuala Lumpur and its partnership with Al-Faris International Travel and Tourism as authorized agent for the budget carrier in Saudi Arabia was announced at a recent press conference.
The ceremony was held in the presence of Khalid Al-Aboud, president of Al-Faris international travel and tourism, Sheikh Qamarudeen Mirano, co- founder and director of the airline and Mohammed Khalid Abdul Razak, Malaysian Consul General.
The flights from Kuala Lumpur to Jeddah commenced in February.
Currently, the flights operate three times a week. But the frequency will rise to four per week from May 1, according to officials.
He said Air Asia’s services to Jeddah would provide an affordable travel option for Haj and Umrah pilgrims.
Khalid Al-Aboud said Air Asia flights would also help strengthen the relationship between the Kingdom and Malaysia.
