Four expat youths arrested in Egyptian nurse’s death

Four expatriate youths in their 20s were arrested in Riyadh on suspicion of killing an Egyptian male nurse south of the capital.
An official from the Deerah police station in the Batha city center said the alleged motive for the killing was theft of money and valuables from the dead man’s apartment.
According to officials at the clinic where the victim worked, the nurse went to his apartment for Isha prayers and then returned to the clinic with multiple stab wounds. The victim told his colleagues that he was attacked by robbers who broke into his house.
The nurse was rushed to the Al-Eman government hospital in Manfouha district, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Police investigators said that there was evidence of a fight inside the apartment. Police also found blood stains on the floor of the apartment.
During the investigation, police found a 19-year-old Egyptian youth, who had come on a visit visa sponsored by his father. He was the prime suspect in the case.
The suspect had confessed to the police that the crime was committed with his friends who had intended to steal the victim’s property.
The suspect told the police that the son of the deceased had told him that his father kept all his cash savings and jewelry inside his apartment.
The gang comprised of the suspect, a 23-year-old Syrian youth, an 18-year-old Egyptian man and another expatriate whose nationality is not known.
It is believed victim came to his apartment when the thieves were already inside the house. It was reported that the scuffle broke out when the victim resisted the thieves.
The police said the gang gained access to the apartment through the balcony. The suspects used the knives from the kitchen to fatally stab the victim.
