Sixteen Saudi artists got the chance to showcase their talent in Dubai during the Dubai art festival runnning from March 18 to 31, letting the world know of their talent and way of thinking.
Arabian Wings Fine Art, with the support of Abdul Latif Jameel Community Initiatives (ALJCI) and in cooperation with Brown Book Dubai, launched the “Limited Edition 2” in Dubai on March 17.
The launch of the “Limited Edition 2” was followed by an exceptional showcase of 16 Saudi artists including Ahmed Al-Ahmadi, Najla’a Felemban, Khaled Al-Ameer, Khloud Al-Bugami, Waleed Kurdi, Khalid Bin Afif, Mohammed Bahrawi, Saud Mahjoob, Ayman Hafez, Ali Al-Hasan, Hana’a Bana’ma, Mansur Al-Sharif, Ahmed Al-Qadi and Mohammed Haider at the Shelter Al-Qouz in Dubai.
“This experience was exceptional. These artists recently participated in the Jeddah art festival and have now shifted to Dubai. It is a step toward internationalyzing Saudi artists and a way of exchanging knowledge, sharing experience, exposing artistic flare, understanding human sentiment and building bridges between artists and people who love art and understand it. We have reconciled Saudi art with the needs of contemporary art,” said Mohammed Bahrawi, co-founder of Arabian Wings.
He further said this year’s “Limited Edition 2” contained 30 pieces of art, including mixed media, wooden art, installation art, oil pastel on carved wood, marble and metal sculptures, digital art, Arabic calligraphy and photography.
“The ‘Limited Edition 2’ brought out the talent of Saudi artists; this level of professionalism was not expected,” said Bahrawi.
He also stated that the Arabian Wings team did not stop after the showcase of exceptional work by Saudi artists but also gave workshops at Safa Park in Dubai about the techniques of Saudi artists, in addition to the work and initiatives of Arabian Wings.
“The copies of the Limited Edition preserve the moral and financial value of the artists and at the same time makes art work available to the public. It was a successful exhibition that the visitors enjoyed. We are not here to sell the art work but to showcase the talent of Saudi artists and their thinking to the world by participating in Art Dubai,” he added.
