DUBAI: The UAE has appointed Suhail bin Mohammed Al-Mazroui as energy minister, state news agency WAM reported, replacing Mohammed Al-Hamli.
The change in ministers does not impact the UAE’s energy policy, UAE industry sources said.
The move came in a Cabinet reshuffle that did not impact any other major ministry. No reason was given for the reshuffle.
Al-Mazrouri was previously the deputy chief executive and senior vice president of new business development at Abu Dhabi’s Mubadala Oil and Gas.
He had also worked at ADNOC in the fields of reservoir engineering, production operation, and project management.
Al-Hamli held the post of energy minister since November 2004.
