Overflowing groundwater on roads continues to haunt north Jeddah residents. As the problem intensifies, the National Water Company (NWC) is finding it difficult to cope with the issue. Even as the NWC fixes the problem in one area, similar problem arises in other districts.
The intersection of Prince Miteb and Sharbatly Street is now free of water problems. Now water leakages are wreaking havoc among motorists at several other busy locations.
The water is making life difficult for residents on Shaikh bin Baz Street in Safa district. This is an important link road that connects Prince Miteb and Prince Majed streets and also leads to a popular hypermarket and expressway in one direction and Madinah Road, Sari, Quraish streets in other direction.
The stagnant water is flooding residential houses. According to residents, the problem has been persisting for over a month. They said the concerned authorities visited the area twice to staunch the overflow but they failed to do so.
