Traffic accident leaves 3 female teachers dead

Three women teachers died in a traffic accident while the driver and three other women sustained injuries.
The accident took place at noon yesterday when the car overturned along the Hijrah road at Kilometer 50, on their way home from As-Sareeha school, in Al-Mahd Governorate, 190 kilometers off Madinah, according to a local newspaper. Two teachers died instantly, while the third teacher died en route to the hospital. The driver sustained serious injuries. Witnesses said the two teachers were ejected from the vehicle because it had no back seats.
The driver, a 28-year-old man, was driving a black 1998 GMC. He felt drowsy while driving, and crashed into the middle section of the road
Traffic patrols arrived at the scene, together with the Red Crescent team and air ambulance. Witnesses said that the team arrived 40 minutes after the incident was reported to the authorities.
