4 brothers on hunger strike

Four brothers who are detained at Raniah prison near Baha have been on a hunger strike since Tuesday evening, a relative said yesterday.
The strike is in protest against a delay in the proceedings in the charges against them. Since last September the brothers have been accused of speculating on the financial markets.
He added that their confessions were not endorsed, and no ruling had been issued against them, even though the claimant party abandoned the torts ten days ago. “Each party is blaming the other party,” he argued, stressing that in addition to the brothers’ suffering, part of their salaries remained unpaid.
This affects also their widowed mother and two sisters because the brothers are the only providers of the family.
The relative demanded that human rights organizations and supervisory bodies look into the case immediately so they can be released.
