King's scholarship program extended for 3rd five-tear term

RIYADH: Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah has approved the extension of the scholarship program named after him for its third phase of five years starting from the end of the current phase at the end of the fiscal year 1435-1436 AH (November 2015).
Minister of Higher Education Dr. Khalid bin Mohammed Al-Anqari hailed the approval as an embodiment of the Saudi leadership's support for higher education.
Anqari said the extension of the program will provide an opportunity for more citizens to obtain higher education in various disciplines and scientific applications and theory.
Al-Anqari earlier said there are currently more than 150,000 Saudis studying at premier universities across the world under the King Abdullah Scholarship Program, which the king launched in 2005.
“This is the highest percentage of students studying under government grants in the world, and the third highest in number of students studying abroad, after China and India,” he said in an earlier interview.
