The 16th GCC Engineering Forum has called for the creation of special courts dedicated to environmental issues.
These courts would render verdicts against violations of each state’s environmental legislation and regulations.
The recommendation, to be submitted to the GCC secretariat general, also called on forming a supreme committee comprising parties concerned for disposal of hazardous municipal, radioactive, industrial and medical waste — and any other waste that can be hazardous to the environment and people’s health.
This committee would be tasked with planning and coordinating waste disposal programs, overseeing the implementation of their procedures and inviting specialist companies to invest in managing and recycling solid waste.
