JEDDAH: Saudi Arabia is facing those who are envious of the country, said Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah yesterday. He added that the Almighty would protect the Kingdom and those who believe in the oneness of God.
The king said this while addressing a number of princes, senior officials and Islamic scholars who came to greet him at his palace yesterday.
The reception was attended by Crown Prince Salman, deputy premier and minister of defense, Sheikh Abdul Aziz Al-Asheikh, the grand mufti, Prince Miqren, the king’s special envoy, Prince Miteb bin Abdullah, state minister and commander of the National Guard, and Prince Abdul Aziz bin Abdullah, deputy foreign minister.
Meanwhile, the king telephoned Saudi Ambassador to Egypt Ahmed Qattan to inquire about the condition of Saudis in Egypt following unrest there. “No Saudi has been harmed because of the violence,” Qattan told the king. “Our embassy in Cairo and consulates are monitoring the condition of Saudis and giving them necessary help,” he added.
