The Ministry of Social Affairs, represented by the social security agency, has deposited SR 32.55 million in the accounts of beneficiaries of the cash assistance program for schoolbags and uniforms for the second term of the current school year (2012-2013). The cash assistance program for schoolbags and uniforms is one of the support programs approved by a royal decree, ministry spokesman Mohammed Ibrahim Al-Awad was quoted by the Saudi Press Agency as saying.
Other social security programs cover home furnishing, food, paying part of electricity bills, health insurance, production projects and home restoration projects, he said. Eligible beneficiaries of the programs include widows, orphans, deserted family members and people with temporary or permanent debilitating health conditions and disabilities.
