ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Cricket Board has criticized Bangladesh for not following the proper procedures before hiring Pakistani players for this year’s Bangladesh Premier League.
The PCB has pulled its 27 players out of Bangladesh’s premier domestic Twenty20 competition, saying “it was never taken in the loop” by the Bangladesh Cricket Board.
The PCB also said in a statement that the players were directly approached and “there are great embarrassments when boards are bypassed.” The cricket board also pointed out that Bangladesh twice postponed its scheduled tours to Pakistan during the last 10 months despite Pakistan supporting Bangladesh’s Mustafa Kamal for the post of International Cricket Council’s vice-president and also sending its players for the BPL last year.
