Fingerprints curbed crime

The decimal fingerprint system provided by the state is one of the latest in the field of verifying the identity of an individual, said the new director of the Makkah Passport Department, Brig. Gen. Hussein bin Yahya Al-Harthy. Registering palms prints and iris prints of every resident, in particular those without a valid residency or work permit before they are deported to their country, would contribute to the prevention of crime in the Kingdom, he added.
The fingerprint system has contributed dramatically to revealing the involvement of offenders in criminal cases ranging from theft, embezzlement, robbery, murder and escape from a sponsor.
