The Technical and Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC) is planning to establish and replace educational institutions to achieve in total 120 secondary industrial institutes, 45 technical colleges for boys and 41 technical colleges for girls.
This was approved in a meeting of TVTC’s General Council.
Eleven technical colleges will adopt undergraduate programs next year.
Deputy Governor of the TVTC for Training Hamad Alakla said that workshops to develop the TVTC’s programs had been completed.
These were focused on the long term to achieve independent training modules. Short-term priorities were the performance management system modules, getting a better understanding of the separation between roles and responsibilities, the modernization and development of services to the TVTC’s departments for training units.
Alakla said that the TVTC would work to develop a program for the professional vocational licensing of all the instructors, based on their training skills. It would also develop new assessment models.
