Very interesting article

I read with interest all the articles by Farouk Luqman in his column, “People & Places,” which is published every week in the Arab News But one on Muammar Qaddafi was very interesting. It is really fascinating to read the language you use to describe the meetings with the high profile personalities in various parts of the world.

It was news to me to learn that the author hails from Aden. Although I am from Sri Lanka, my ancestors too came from south Yemen. I am the seventh in the line to be born in the island nation.

The first to step on to the soil of Sri Lanka from Hadhramouth, located in south Yemen, was one Seyed Abdullah, who belonged to the Jamalul Lail tribe. He lived and died in the southern part of Sri Lanka in a place called Weligama, a coastal town. Seyed Alavi Moulana, who hails from the same tribe, is the current governor of the Western Province, where the capital Colombo is situated.

He has also served as the labor minister in the central government of the country.
May Allah bless you with more strength to your elbow to entertain your ardent readers like me. — Seyed Hamid Moulana, Riyadh
