Makkah Gov. Prince Khaled Al-Faisal comes down the steps of the Kaaba, the holiest shrine in Islam after ceremoniously washing its interior on Thursday. President of the Two Holy Mosques Affairs Sheikh Abdul Rahman Al-Sudais and his deputy Muhammad Al-Khozaim, prominent Islamic scholars and diplomats of Muslim countries attended the ritual.
The interior of the Kaaba is washed twice a year — in Muharram, the first month after the Haj Pilgrimage and Shaaban, the month before Ramadan fasting. (SPA)
