A new electronic scoreboard has been successfully installed at Khalifa Sports City Stadium, one of two facilities that will host the 21st Gulf Cup in January next year.
The hi-tech scoreboard with special features was well fixed and tested recently and is now functional with over a month remaining for Bahrain to organize the football tournament, to be held Jan. 5 to 18.
The Khalifa Sports City Stadium has also been equipped with other essential facilities for the tournament, including six cabins for commentating and additional four in other locations at the stadium.
This was announced during a field visit by senior organizing committee officials, led by Tournament Director Ahmed Al Nuaimi, who was briefed on the renovation process by Stadiums Committee head Khalid Al Haj.
Al Haj also presented a detailed report on what have been accomplished in terms of preparing four private cabins for GCC TV stations setting up its own studio analysis during the matches.
The visiting delegation also inspected maintenance development at the National Stadium, which will host the opening and closing ceremonies of the championship.
Desert Group, the construction company responsible for the National Stadium maintenance, has recently completed laying down the surface with a natural grass turf.
During both visits, Al Nuaimi was also accompanied by Ceremonies Committee head Rashid Al Zayani, Media Committee head Tawfiq Al Salhi, Public Relations Committee head Mohammed Qassim, Transports Committee head Ali Al Majed and executive secretary Maryam Yousef.
Meanwhile, the official website of the tournament will be launched today in a special ceremony to be held at the organizing committee premises in Seef area.
The website features several useful details and links as well as news coverage of the tournament and matches It also offers a group of photos of the event, in addition to providing services of interest to the visitors and observers.
