LuLu Hypermarket is all set to celebrate Sea Food Fest of 2012 with the support of Department of Marine Fisheries, Ministry of Agriculture. The six-day festival will showcase the abundance of sea in a miniature model from Nov. 21. The deputy minister in the department of marine fisheries, Ministry of Agriculture, Saudi Arabia will be the chief guest to inaugurate the at 10:30 a.m. at LuLu Hypermarket, Murabba, Riyadh, followed by the inauguration of the same event by Nabeel Ibrahim Fateh, director of Marine Fisheries Research Institute Eastern Province, at 5 p.m. on the opening day.
The prime focus of the festival is to portray the abundance of Saudi coast with variety of fishes from Jazan, Dammam and Jeddah. Marine Fisheries department has made all the arrangements to ensure the availability of the local fish in its freshness; this will be an indicator to the effort of the country’s fishermen output.
Given the cosmopolitan clientele and culture of LuLu; the festival will broaden its horizon to exhibit the fresh import ranges like fresh Norwegian salmon, smoked salmon, Italian mixed seafood, Egyptian tilapias, Atlantic mackrel, rainbow trout, crab, mussel and squids. A special corner for shrimps and lobsters is also arranged. Import ranges from countries such as Pakistan, India, Europe and Africa will create an ambience of global ocean resources gathering at one point. An exhibition of rare fish is also arranged. Customers may witness live shrimps, lobster and other special varieties.
“A healthy diet always contains fish, a protein food with fewer calories than other meat sources. It’s also nature’s most versatile food. You can steam, grill, poach and curry fish. Moreover, the presence of Omega 03 fatty acids makes it even more preferable especially when you get it in sea freshness with a throw away price tag.” said Alawi Al-Kmshe, manager at LuLu.
