Ukrainians in KSA to cast their ballots

The Ukraine Embassy invites citizens living in Saudi Arabia to cast their ballot for Ukraine’s Parliamentary election at the embassy in Riyadh’s Salah Al-Din district on Oct. 28.
Vasyl Bodnar, head of the consular section said, “A polling station has been established for Ukrainian citizens residing in the Kingdom and voting will take place between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m.” Bodnar told Arab News the Ukrainian government acknowledges their citizens expect democratic and transparent elections. “An unimpeded democratic choice for citizens and a competition of policy programs and views are core values for us,” he said.
“The President and the Ukrainian government are interested in fair and democratic elections.” He said his country recently installed webcams in all thirty-four thousand polling stations.
“This is the first time a project of this size has been undertaken ahead of Ukrainian elections. It is a complicated project — technically and in terms of cost. However, our government endeavors to guarantee voting transparency and fraud prevention, as well as assure citizens their vote is protected.” There are currently 500 Ukrainians living in the Kingdom.
Voting enquiries can be made by calling the embassy at 4508536.
