Saudi talent under spotlight in London conference

JEDDAH: Saudi Ambassador to the UK Prince Muhammad bin Nawaf has highlighted the government’s efforts to invest in the country’s young men and women by sending them on scholarship to reputable international universities and institutes for higher education.
“This conference is a clear proof for the Kingdom’s desire to invest in its youth in terms of educating them at international universities including those in the UK,” he said after opening the Saudi Scientific International Conference (SIC) in London.
He commended the Saudi students for conducting scientific researches on important topics, saying they would contribute to the Kingdom’s development.
The ambassador highlighted Saudi Arabia’s educational strides within a short period. “This is a big achievement,” he said, stressing the need for good planning and sincere endeavors to achieve greater progress and prosperity.
Organized by the Administrative Commission for Saudi Students Clubs in Britain and Ireland, the four-day conference is held at the University of Brunel in London under the supervision of the Saudi Cultural Attache.
The conference and the accompanying exhibition offer a good opportunity for about 1,700 students to display their talents in science, health, sociology, medicine, engineering, applied sciences, commerce, economy, politics, law, education, linguistics, human sciences, information technology, communications, aviation and space sciences.
SIC is a great opportunity to build relationships and exchange experiences between Saudi and British universities and colleges, Saudi and British national research centers, companies and many key policymakers of education.
