Mobile learning and cloud-based assessment are set to radically transform the GCC’s education sector, with Saudi universities among the first in the Middle East to adopt this revolutionary new technology.
CORE, a leading global education solutions provider implementing next-generation solutions for teaching, learning and assessment across the world, has introduced the mobile learning, or m-learning, and the formative assessment trend in the Middle East.
CORE recently signed an agreement toward this effect with the UAE’s Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT) and is now taking the lead in introducing the concept in Saudi Arabia’s schools, colleges and universities, in a landmark project that will benefit more than 5 million students.
M-learning takes digital education to an altogether higher level and Saudi Arabia can be one of the first few countries in the world to adopt this revolutionary technology in mobile learning (m-learning) and cloud computing through hand-held devices.
The objective of this solution is to leverage the power of handheld devices such as tablet PCs to transform teaching and learning by bringing the world into the classroom and extending the classroom to the world.
This initiative by CORE will usher in the largest GCC-wide campaign to expand the reach of mobile learning through tablets.
The tablets will be powered by CORE’s transformational educational solutions.
Sanjeev Mansotra, chairman and global CEO of CORE Education & Technologies Ltd., said: “We are delighted to introduce this landmark solution in the GCC and bring our global expertise in transformational education solutions to usher in a new digital beginning the region.”
He said Saudi Arabia is an important market for CORE and that the company was focused in helping the government and education system in the Kingdom to foster a knowledge and skill-based economy.
