RIYADH: Minister of Commerce and Industry Tawfiq bin Fawzan Al-Rabiah has appointed six members to form the 16th Board of Directors of Riyadh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) for a new four-year term, Saudi Press Agency reported.
According to the decision, the following were appointed as members of RCCI board: Fahad Al-Qasim, Badr Al-Rajihi, Hamad Al-Showair, Majid Al-Gharbi, Khalid Al-Miqairin and Mohammed Al-Khalil.
The supervisory committee of RCCI elections last Wednesday announced six members from the merchant’s category and another six from the industrial category as members of the new 18-member board. The Minister has the right to appoint one third of the board members to ensure representation from all business sectors.
The contest for RCCI board elections ended last Wednesday where the number of votes stood at 5,625 compared to 5,400 in the last election. The voting system was run on an individual basis unlike previous elections that were conducted on a list basis.
Those who acquired the most votes and consequently won in the elections through nomination are (from the business section): Ali bin Saleh Al-Ohuthaim, Mohammad bin Fahd Al-Hamadi Al-Otaibi, Othman bin Tariq Othman Al-Qassabi, Sami bin Abdalkareem Abdullah Al-Abdalkareem, Mohammad bin Abdulaziz Mohammad Al-Ajlan and Mansour bin Abdallah Abdulaziz Al-Shathari.
(From the industrial section): The winners were: Fahd bin Mohammad Qazaan Al-Hamaadi, Abdulrahman bin Abdallah Hammad Al-Zamil, Fahd bin Thanyan Fahd Al-Thanyan, Saad bin Ibrahim Abdulaziz Al-Mujal, Abdulaziz bin Mohammad Saad Al-Ajlan and Bandar bin Abdallah Ibrahim Al-Humaidi.
