STC Group has accepted the resignation of Ziad bin Thamir Al-Otaibi from his post as Group CEO for technical operations.
The board expressed great appreciation for Al-Otaibi’s outstanding efforts throughout his career with STC, which had a clear impact on the group’s journey.
Al-Otaibi is considered to be one of the prominent leaders in the telecommunication industry in the Kingdom.
He has held several leading positions in the group since joining in 1985.
He had supervised the establishment and development of various networks, landline and mobile services, in addition to broadband and fiber-optics.
He took part in the management and operation of mobile networks in the group’s subsidiaries in Kuwait, Bahrain, Indonesia and Malaysia.
He represented the group in the subsidiaries’ board of directors in these countries, as well as in several domestic and international events.
Group CEO Khaled Al-Ghuneim expressed his appreciation for the valuable contributions of Al-Otaibi, stating that his successful journey and efforts have reflected positively on STC.
He also expressed his confidence that Al-Otaibi will continue to enrich and enhance the telecommunication sector and the Kingdom in general, and wished him success.
