DHAHRAN: Saudi Aramco has announced on its website the 30th Children’s Art Contest under the title “Energy Story in Colors.”
“Our Children’s Art Contest celebrates its 30th year this time, and the topic is sure to unleash children’s imagination and creativity,” the organizers wrote in a statement on the Saudi Aramco website yesterday.
“The contest will help educate children and their families about energy conservation and identify valuable solutions for energy efficiency,” said the organizers.
The contest is open to boys and girls between the ages of six and 12. They must be a resident of Saudi Arabia. The contestants will be divided in gender and two age groups — boys (ages 6-8 and 9-12) and girls (ages 6-8 and 9-12).
According to the contest rules, the artwork must be on A3 paper size. All coloring materials and styles will be accepted.
The artwork must be relevant to the theme Energy Story in Colors. Each participant can submit a maximum of three artworks. The artwork must be hand-drawn.
“Parents and adults may educate children, but may not participate directly in the artwork,” the statement read. Each drawing must include the contestant’s personal information: name, age, gender, school, grade, e-mail and phone number.
“Between Oct. 4 and Oct. 11, our teams will conduct workshops in Dhahran (Al-Rashed Mall), Riyadh (Gharnata Mall) and Jeddah (Mall of Arabia). The last date for artwork submission is Oct. 17,” said the statement.
Winners will be announced on Nov. 3 and they will be recognized on Nov. 8.
The artwork must be submitted at Al-Mohammadeyah Towers, 6th Floor, P.O. Box 2573, Dhahran Street, Alkhobar 31952.
The artwork will be filtered according to gender and then age groups. The top 10 ranked artworks from each section will receive an iPad.
