SR 500 m set aside for training

RIYADH: As many as 2,051 male and female students had been admitted to the Maher Program of the Human Resources Development Fund (HRDF) for getting qualified as specialized cadres during 2011. The fund allocated SR 500 million for the program.
In its annual report, the HRDF pointed out that the Maher Program included training in the fields of health, engineering, information technology, administration, travel, tourism, finance and insurance.
Meanwhile, over 150,000 students will get admission in various technical colleges and vocational secondary schools run by the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC) in the new academic year, said TVTC spokesman Fahd Al-Otaibi.
He added that the annual meeting of officials of technical and vocational training institutes would be held today at the TVTC headquarters in Riyadh.
Topics such as the running of training modules in association with strategic partnership and international expertise, performance indicators in training modules, practical coordination for graduates and other related topics would be discussed.
