Saudi pupils attend summer internships at Raytheon

Eighteen Saudi Arabian college students studying at universities in the US are participating this summer in internships sponsored by Raytheon Company, a partner in providing products, services and support to the Kingdom for nearly 50 years.
Aligned with Raytheon's global Leadership Development Program, the internships are providing the students with on-the-job experience that will enhance their capabilities and foster professional growth.
The students are gaining exposure to a diverse range of professional functions including engineering, information technology, manufacturing, supply chain, finance, human resources and business development at Raytheon facilities located in Tucson, Ariz.; Fullerton, Calif.; Andover, Cambridge, Tewksbury and Waltham, Mass.; and Rosslyn, Va.
Saudi Arabia's ambassador to the United States, Adel A. Al-Jubeir, said: "Raytheon's support of education, helping Saudi youth who are so important to our future, underscores that their partnership in the Kingdom extends beyond day-to-day business and into the fabric of societal needs. This program is at the forefront of experiential learning that provides a greater understanding of world- class business operations and processes."
The students were selected following an extensive recruitment process involving several US universities that recognized the value of these internships to the Saudi students as well as to their own institutions.
"For nearly 50 years, Raytheon has been a trusted partner to the Kingdom, providing state-of-the-art technology to support its defense and security requirements," said Raytheon Chairman and CEO William H. Swanson. "These summer internships extend Raytheon's enduring commitment to the Kingdom, and strengthen our partnership through education and professional development supporting Saudi Arabia's growing technology business sector."
